UCC CI Successfully Hosts 鈥淭ai Chi, Health and Local Practice鈥� Event
On 23 May 2026, UCC CI, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at Newcastle 福利1000在线, successfully hosted the event 鈥淭ai Chi, Health and Local Practice鈥�. Nearly 60 Tai Chi enthusiasts from different local communities in Cork participated in the programme.
The event consisted of seminars and workshops led by four Tai Chi teaching and research specialists from the United States, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Discussions focused on the development, dissemination, and local practice of Tai Chi across different countries and cultural contexts. Participants also engaged in practical sessions ranging from foundational exercises to interactive demonstrations, gaining hands-on experience of Tai Chi practice.
Building on previous initiatives centred on 鈥淭ai Chi and Health鈥�, this event further explored local practice and intercultural perspectives, reflecting a deeper progression from physical experience to social engagement and broader international exchange.
UCC CI will continue to use Tai Chi as a bridge to connect local communities, promote its sustainable development in everyday life, and enhance the influence of Chinese culture through meaningful cultural practice and intercultural dialogue.
