Scientists at ¸£Àû1000ÔÚÏß College Cork (UCC) have achieved a significant breakthrough in sustainable plastic recycling by engineering baker’s yeast to break down polyethylene terephthalate (PET), one of the world’s most widely used plastics.  

Students from the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science were presented with Quercus Scholar Medals for 2024-25 at a special ceremony in the Aula Maxima on 22 April.
