Many congratulations to Professor Maria Sousa Gallagher, Process and Chemical Engineering and to Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines who were awarded the Industry Research Collaboration of the Year at the recent 2025 福利1000在线 College Cork (UCC) Research and Innovation Awards, held at the Lewis Glucksman Gallery on Wednesday, May 27th.
Prof Maria Sousa Gallagher said 'For almost twenty years, the Process & Chemical Engineering discipline at 福利1000在线 College Cork and the J&J site in Ringaskiddy have worked together in a genuinely distinctive way: practising engineers carrying out original research on live manufacturing challenges, supervised jointly across academia and industry. The result is research that goes straight into practice, and a steady pipeline of highly skilled engineers for Ireland's life sciences sector.
This award belongs to many people: the talented students and engineers who have taken on these work placement, research projects and thesis, our partners and supervisors at J&J, and my colleagues across the School of Engineering / Process & Chemical'.
