Before applying for any course, you must meet both the programme entry requirements AND the Springboard+ funding eligibility criteria.

1. Programme Entry Requirements:

• Each programme has specific entry requirements that you must meet to be eligible to apply.
• These are clearly outlined on each programme page.
• You will be required to upload supporting documentation during the application to verify that you meet these requirements. 

2. Springboard+ Eligibility Criteria

• To be eligible to apply for Springboard+ or the Micro-credential Learner Fee Subsidy funding, you must meet the eligibility criteria.

If you do not meet the entry requirements and eligibility criteria

• If you do not meet the programme entry requirements, you will not be offered a place on the programme. Funding offers cannot be transferred to another programme.
• If you do not meet the funding eligibility criteria, you may still apply for the programme as a fee-paying student, subject to availability. 

Once you have checked both the:

• Programme entry requirements AND
• Funding eligibility criteria

If you decide to apply for funding, you must do so via the Springboard+ website.

Steps to Apply:

1. Visit
2. Find your chosen programme
3. Click Register and complete your application
4. During the registration, you will be required to upload: 
   • An up-to-date CV
   • Academic Transcripts from previous relevant qualifications
   • A motivational statement (min. 500 words) stating why you wish to study this programme at UCC and how you meet the programme entry requirements.
   • If English is not your first language, you will need to upload a copy of a UCC approved English Language Test/Exam. (English language requirements can be found HERE . 

• You can also see the funding link via each programme page. 
• You cannot apply via UCC Apply as a funded applicant until you have been offered a place and explicitly instructed to do so. 
• If you have applied via UCC Apply as a fee-paying applicant, you will not be considered for funding.

Review & Offers:

• Your application will be reviewed, with priority applicants receiving first offers.
• If you are successful, you will receive a provisional offer by email. You will not be enrolled until your eligibility is verified and payment (if required) is received. 

Payment & Verification:

• Applicants who are approved for 90%, 80% or 50% funding will be required to pay the remaining fee balance at the point of registration. If your employer is covering the remaining percentage of programme fees, you must pay this amount at the time of application and any reimbursement must be arranged directly between you and your employer.
• Additional documentation will be requested via the Springboard+ platform before the programme begins to verify your eligibility.
• Offers will be withdrawn if you are unable to provide requested documentation to verify you meet eligibility and programme requirements.
