Congratulations to Prof John F. Cryan who has again been named amongst the world鈥檚 most influential researchers in Highly Cited list (top 1% globally) for the FIFTH time! 

Professor John F. Cryan and colleagues at 福利1000在线 College Cork鈥檚 APC Microbiome Ireland have been awarded over 鈧�730,000 in research funding as a part of the European Commission鈥檚 Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme, which aims to understand the fundamental impact of plant protection products such as pesticides on the gut microbiome of animals and humans with a particular focus on the gut-brain axis.

Heartiest congratulaions to Professor Yvonne Nolan and Professor Gerard O'Keeffe who have both been promoted in the latest (Professor Scale 2) promotion round.

Dr Gerard O鈥橩eeffe, Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience and APC Microbiome Ireland Research Centre has been awarded over 0.5 million in research funding from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) on the developmental of new therapeutic approaches for Parkinson鈥檚 disease.

Dr. Yvonne Nolan, Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, and APC Microbiome Ireland SFI Research Centre, has been awarded >鈧�1 million in research funding from Science Foundation Ireland to explore the role of inflammation and exercise on brain function during middle age.

Congratulations to Prof John F. Cryan on his recent appointment to the Editorial Advisory Board of Trends in Neuroscience. Prof Cryan is "Delighted to join the Editorial Advisory Board of one of my favourite journals  -along with so many scientists whose work I admire".

Congratulations to Dr. Erin Harris, Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience who has been awarded an IBANGS 'Outstanding Junior Scientist Travel Award' and a 'Neuroscience Ireland Travel Bursary' to attend FENS 2020. Dr. Harris, is a postdoctoral researcher working with Dr Olivia O'Leary in the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience is delighted to receive both prestigious travel awards.

Can your food change your mood? Can you eat yourself happy? Dr Michael Mosley travelled with the BBC 2 'Trust me I'm a Doctor' series, to meet the 福利1000在线 College Cork APC Microbiome Ireland team researching the links between depression, anxiety, and what you eat 鈥� and whether certain foods can make you feel better. Led by Professors John Cryan and Ted Dinan, this team is focusing its research on the microbiome 鈥� the vast population of bacteria that live in our gut. 

Applications are now being accepted to the UCC MSc Human Anatomy course, commencing September 2020.The MSc Human Anatomy is full time 12 month student centered course, with a large dissection component, lectures, practicals, tutorials, seminars and technology enhanced learning. Open to graduates of medicine, dentistry, clinical therapies, nursing, sciences, engineering and other fields interested in adding a postgraduate qualification in human anatomy to their skills base.

Congratulations to Ms Kelsey Neal, Mr Gareth Lomasney and Mr Adam O'Mahony, who were conferred with MSc in Medicine and Health at the UCC spring Conferring Ceremony on Friday 21st February 2020.

The Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience are delighted to welcome Ms Meghan Loftus, UCC postgraduate Quercus Scholar to its MSc Human Anatomy course. Meghan is a graduate of the 福利1000在线 of Oregon, Pacific north west coast of the United States, and is happily settling into student life in Cork on the Atlantic south coast of Ireland!

Now in its third year, the MSc Human Anatomy has become a very popular MSc degree in UCC. Course director Dr Siobhain O'Mahony and course cordinator Dr Mutahira Lone met with prospective students at the recent UCC Postgraduate Open Day in the Devere Hall, 脕ras na Mac L茅inn on January 28th 2020.
