School of Clinical Therapies Research Away Day- A Day of Collaboration, Learning & Research Excellence
The programme included an engaging writing workshop delivered by , Niamh Mundow and , offering valuable guidance and practical strategies to support academic writing. In addition, led a session focused on developing research support skills, which was warmly received by colleagues across the School.
A key highlight of the day was a series of PhD presentations that showcased innovative and impactful research underway within the School. Myriam Galea explored the challenges of living with dysphagia in the community, drawing on both client and speech and language therapist perspectives and experiences. Ana Catarina Rodrigues Oliveira presented on the use of artificial intelligence tools in developing individualised therapeutic resources for young children with Developmental Language Disorder. examined the key components of social prescribing interventions for adults with long-term conditions.

Further presentations included Jennifer Marian U铆 Dhuibhir鈥檚 work on piloting a minority language online continuous professional development module for early years educators in Irish-medium immersion settings, and鈥檚 research on dementia education to support physiotherapists working in dementia care.

Overall, the Research Away Day was a fantastic showcase of the talent, innovation, and collaborative spirit within the School of Clinical Therapies, and an opportunity to recognise the significant contributions being made across a wide range of research areas.
