Dr. Trevor Carey, Technical Officer in Physical Chemistry, has received CChem and RSciTech status from the Royal Society of Chemistry. Trevor was mentored during the process by Prof. John Sodeau.

Dr. Robert Healy was awarded a European Commission Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowship in 2012 (€240,000) to perform a research project on the chemical and optical properties of Black Carbon particles in the atmosphere (CHEMBC).

The annual BASF Conference for Leaving Certificate Chemistry teachers is taking place in UCC this week, with numerous contributions from UCC Chemistry staff.
