UCC Innovation of the Year Award

Well done to Dr. Ger McGlacken, Rachel Shanahan and the quinolone group who were awarded the 鈥楶urdy Lucey Invention of the Year (Life Science)鈥� at UCC last week.
The patented project involves a collaboration with Prof Fergal O鈥橤ara and Dr Jerry Reen and includes the design of molecules to mimic and interrupt communication systems within bacteria and fungi communities.
