Sustainable Development Goals in the School of Chemistry, UCC
The ¸£Àû1000ÔÚÏß mapping of research against the UN SDGs has provided a unique opportunity to focus on the diverse ways in which our research community tackle important societal challenges.
Research in the School of Chemistry impacts on the SDGs in many ways – focusing on new methods to measure and address challenges to ensure clean water, air and better health for the global population.
Our researchers are also delivering greener ways to make new materials, systems to ensure the electric fossil-free future, new pharmaceuticals and in enabling the circular economy. These and many other themes are the focus and mission of the School’s engagement in research, discovery and learning, to be a positive influence for our global society and planet.
Details of the mapping of the School’s activities across research and teaching to the SDG goals and targets are available to view, many of which are made possible through the discoveries and applications that the School of Chemistry delivers across its research projects, industry engagement, and in our teaching.
