Congratulating the PhD graduates Prof Anita Maguire, Head of School said “PhD researchers in the School of Chemistry undertake research in diverse areas of chemistry underpinning significant societal challenges including air quality, sustainability, pharmaceuticals, materials – we wish them well in their future careers, building on the skills and expertise developed during their graduate studies in the School. PhD education has been at the heart of the School of Chemistry for many decades, and has played a strategically important role in providing highly skilled chemists essential to the growth and success of key industrial sectors, including the pharmaceutical and ICT sectors, nationally and internationally, in addition to providing future academic research leaders. “
