A celebration of future scientists at the Cork Primary Science Quiz 2024
Cloghroe NS were crowned champions of the Cork Primary Science Quiz for the second year in a row.
The Cloghroe NS team of three impressively outscored tough competition from 53 other teams, totalling over 160 children from 25 different schools across Cork. The primary school children were well supported by over one hundred parents, teachers, friends, and family, who filled the audience to cheer on the teams.
Volunteers from UCC School of Chemistry and beyond came together with the Old Cork Waterworks team and Cork City Council to host the quiz event at Devere Hall on Wednesday 13th November 2024. Supported by our School outreach committee, William Daly led on securing generous funding from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) through the RSC Republic of Ireland Local Section and RSC Chemistry Week.
The School congratulates all participants in this years’ quiz. We are delighted to be involved and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
