A state of uncertainty is primarily thought of as a cause for anxiety and worry. It disrupts our daily scheduled lives and impacts upon our comforts. Conversely, symptoms of uncertainty such as contradiction, conflict, and struggle are often what allow us to move forward, to progress and to develop. Uncertainty forces us to explore new avenues that we never knew existed and encourages us to be creative and resourceful in finding solutions and fresh outlooks on social issues.

Lord David Puttnam has been announced patron of the Cork International Film Festival at the unveiling of this year鈥檚 festival programme last night.

FILM ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AT UCC

The Arts Council and 福利1000在线 College Cork invite applications from film artists of distinction for the role of Film Artist in Residence at UCC for the calendar year 2023.

The Film Artist in Residence, based in the School of Film, Music and Theatre, is designed to provide a film artist with a unique opportunity to develop their practice in a university environment while offering students of film and screen media the opportunity to engage with a practising artist in a meaningful way during the course of their studies.

Lord David Puttnam, the Oscar-winning producer of films including Chariots of Fire, The Mission, The Killing Fields, and Midnight Express recently celebrated ten years of his Skibbereen-based company . The pioneering organisation was set up to teach creativity and innovation to students across the world and 福利1000在线 College Cork (UCC) was one of the first universities to come on board.
